Metabolic Medicine in Atlanta
You may feel fine, but your metabolism could be telling a different story. These conditions are connected, common and often silent. We find them early, explain what your numbers mean, and treat the root with metabolic strategies.
Metabolic medicine is the clinical diagnosis and treatment of disorders in how the body regulates glucose, insulin, lipids and fat storage. It includes insulin resistance, prediabetes, fatty liver disease (MASLD), PCOS, high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol and triglycerides, and metabolic syndrome. At MetaBridge in Atlanta, care begins with a 60-minute evaluation and comprehensive labs.
Insulin is like a key that lets sugar into your cells. With insulin resistance, the locks get sticky, so your body makes more and more keys. The extra sugar and fat have to go somewhere, often your liver and your waistline.
Does this sound like you?
These are early signals, and early is the best time to act.
What may be going on
What is insulin resistance?
Your cells don't respond well to insulin, so your body makes more of it to keep blood sugar normal. It can be present for years before blood sugar rises.
What is prediabetes, and can it be reversed?
Blood sugar is higher than normal but not yet diabetes, usually an A1c of 5.7% to 6.4%. More than 1 in 3 U.S. adults have it, and about 8 in 10 don't know. In a large trial, lifestyle changes cut the risk of type 2 diabetes by more than half.
What is fatty liver disease (MASLD)?
Extra fat builds up in the liver. It is closely tied to insulin resistance and often has no symptoms. We use routine labs to estimate liver scarring risk.
How is PCOS connected to metabolism?
Insulin resistance is common in PCOS and can push androgen hormones higher. Treating the metabolic side can improve cycles and symptoms.
What is metabolic syndrome?
Five warning signs: a larger waist, high triglycerides, low HDL, higher blood pressure and higher fasting sugar. Three or more raise your risk of diabetes and heart disease.
Can metabolic health affect my mood and energy?
Yes. Research links insulin resistance with depression, and blood sugar swings can cause fatigue and brain fog.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I get treatment for insulin resistance or fatty liver in Atlanta?
MetaBridge Health & Wellness, based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers clinician-led metabolic medicine by telehealth for adults in Georgia, Colorado and Utah. Care starts with a 60-minute consultation and comprehensive labs.
Can fatty liver be reversed?
In its earlier stages, often yes. Losing about 5% of body weight can reduce liver fat.
Do you manage blood pressure and cholesterol?
Medication management is part of our care. If another clinician already prescribes these medicines, we defer to them for dose changes.
Is metabolic medicine the same as weight loss?
No. Some people at a normal weight have insulin resistance or fatty liver. If weight loss is your main goal, see Medical Weight Loss.
Do I need labs?
Yes. Labs are part of every plan. Depending on your needs, testing may include functional metabolic labs, nutrient levels, gut health testing, hormone testing and inflammation markers. Your clinician chooses the tests that fit you and reads every result. Lab costs are separate from your visit.
Will you replace my primary care provider or specialists?
No. MetaBridge works as a consultant. You keep your primary care provider and any specialists, and we add a metabolic plan alongside their care.
