Women's Hormone Health in Atlanta

Perimenopause • Menopause • Bioidentical Hormone Therapy • Midlife Metabolism

Hot flashes, 3 a.m. wake-ups, mood swings, brain fog and weight that moves to your middle are real, and they are treatable. We look at your hormones and your metabolism together, then build a plan that fits your body and your life.

What is hormone therapy for menopause?

Menopause hormone therapy replaces some of the estrogen, and progesterone when needed, that your body makes less of in perimenopause and menopause. It is the most effective treatment for hot flashes and night sweats, and it helps protect your bones. At MetaBridge in Atlanta, we offer bioidentical hormone therapy, including FDA-approved options, after a full evaluation and labs.

Perimenopause is like a dimmer switch that flickers before it settles. Your hormones don't fade smoothly, they swing. Those swings are why one month feels fine and the next feels like a stranger is living in your body.

Does this sound like you?

“I wake up at 3 a.m. drenched and can't fall back asleep.”
“My patience is gone, and I don't recognize my moods.”
“I eat the same, but my weight moved to my middle.”
“My brain feels foggy, and I lose words mid-sentence.”
“My periods are changing, and no one has explained why.”
“I was told my labs are normal, and I should just push through.”

This is a stage of life, not the end of feeling like yourself.

Why does weight shift to my middle in midlife?

As estrogen falls, the body tends to store more fat around the belly. That belly fat is closely tied to insulin resistance, which is why we check your metabolism too.

Linked in research

Is insulin resistance more common after menopause?

Research links the menopause transition with rising insulin resistance, cholesterol and blood pressure. Finding these changes early lets us act early.

Well established

Can perimenopause cause anxiety or depression?

Yes. Perimenopause is a known window of higher risk for depression and anxiety, even in women who never had them before. Treating the hormone side can be part of the plan.

Well established

Why do I wake up at night?

Night sweats, hot flashes and falling progesterone can all break up sleep. Hormone therapy often improves sleep that is disrupted by night sweats.

Well established

What happens to my bones?

Bone loss speeds up in the years around menopause. Hormone therapy helps prevent bone loss, and strength training and protein help too.

Well established

Could it be my thyroid?

Thyroid problems are common in midlife women and can look like menopause. We check your thyroid as part of your labs.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get menopause and hormone therapy in Atlanta?

MetaBridge Health & Wellness, based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers clinician-led women's hormone care by telehealth for adults in Georgia, Colorado and Utah. Care starts with a 60-minute consultation and comprehensive labs.

What are the signs of perimenopause?

Common signs include changing periods, hot flashes, night sweats, poor sleep, mood swings, anxiety, brain fog, low sex drive, vaginal dryness and weight gain around the middle. Perimenopause can start in your late 30s or 40s.

How do I know if I'm in perimenopause or menopause?

Menopause means 12 months in a row without a period. Perimenopause is the years before that, when hormones swing up and down. Because levels change day to day, perimenopause is mostly diagnosed by your symptoms and cycle changes, not one blood test.

Is hormone therapy safe?

For most healthy women under 60, or within 10 years of menopause, the benefits of hormone therapy outweigh the risks. In 2025 and 2026, the FDA began removing the broad warnings about heart disease, breast cancer and dementia from menopause hormone therapy labels. Your personal and family history still matter, so we review them with you.

What are bioidentical hormones?

Bioidentical hormones have the same structure as the hormones your body makes, such as estradiol and progesterone. Several are FDA-approved and tested for safety and consistent dosing. We'll explain your options and what each one means for you.

Will hormone therapy help with my mood, sleep or weight?

Hormone therapy is most effective for hot flashes and night sweats, and it often improves sleep that night sweats disrupt. It can help mood for some women in perimenopause. It is not a weight-loss treatment, but treating sleep and insulin resistance can make weight easier to manage.

Do you offer non-hormone options?

Yes. Not everyone can or wants to use hormones. FDA-approved non-hormone medicines can reduce hot flashes, and we combine them with sleep, nutrition and strength plans.

What can help vaginal dryness or painful sex?

Low-dose vaginal estrogen is a safe, effective treatment that can be used for as long as you need it. Non-hormone moisturizers can help too.

How long can I stay on hormone therapy?

There is no set age when you must stop. We review your benefits and risks with you at least once a year.

Do I need labs?

Yes. Labs are part of every plan. Depending on your needs, testing may include functional metabolic labs, nutrient levels, gut health testing, hormone testing and inflammation markers. Your clinician chooses the tests that fit you and reads every result. Lab costs are separate from your visit.

Will you replace my primary care provider or specialists?

No. MetaBridge works as a consultant. You keep your primary care provider and any specialists, and we add a metabolic plan alongside their care.
